Parvati Polak

A transplant from the mountains of Maine, Parvati Polak has been a part of the Bay Area Yoga Community since her arrival 4 years ago. Prior to her move cross country she practiced under the auspices of Patti Bradshaw at Sarah Lawrence College. She gladly accepted the position of Kitchen Mom/Head Cook at the Integral Yoga Institute of San Francisco. She lived at this ashram for a year, greatly deepening her practice and teaching of hatha and meditation as well as her culinary artistry is vegetarian cuisine. Her teacher certification is from the IYI, where the foundation of her teaching style was built. She encourages her students to journey inward, cultivating a sense of understanding and compassion for their individual body and mind. Her WholeBirth Yoga training has also been elemental in her offering to the women in her prenatal classes. Parvati has found great joy in bringing hatha yoga and mindfulness meditation to the birthing community and believes that the method of nurturing self awareness is essential in creating the stage for a more easeful pre and post natal experience. She currently teaches prenatal yoga classes at various studios in the peninsula and in the offices of local companies. She is also available for private classes in your home or hers.
